Despite the challenges posed by insecurity, the stateโ€™s people remain hospitable and resilient. In October 2023, the Initiative for Leadership and Economic Watch in Nigeria conducted an on-the-spot assessment of projects executed by the National Agency for the Great Green Wall (NAGGW) in Zamfara. On-the-Spot Independent Assessment of Developmental Projects at Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State

๐Ÿ“ Introduction Auchi Polytechnic, one of Nigeria’s premier institutions, has a storied history of contributing to the nationโ€™s educational and economic development. Founded in 1963 as a technical college, it was later upgraded to a polytechnic in 1973 and subsequently taken over by the Federal Government in 1994. This transition has fostered significant growth in infrastructure, academics, and reputation, positioning the institution as a leader in higher education. In December 2023, a coalition of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) conducted an on-the-spot monitoring and evaluation of developmental projects at Auchi Polytechnic. The assessment aimed to promote transparency and accountability by evaluating the institution’s progress under the leadership of Rector Dr. Salisu Shehu Umar.
